Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Stonegate?

Since the year 2000 Stonegate Enterprises, Inc. has been providing professional property maintenance and irrigation services to some of middle Tennessee’s most premier home sites, assisted living centers, and commercial/retail properties. We are not the largest company in town, but pride ourselves on our unparalleled quality and integrity. We have set standards of excellence and will not jeopardize quality in workmanship or threaten the relationships we have with customers in order to grow. We have just recently started with direct marketing techniques and for nearly 10 years have relied solely on “word of mouth” as our advertising agent.

What can you do for me that my present property maintenance contractor cannot?

Clients tell us that the reason they selected us over their previous contractor is that we provide a better quality of products, services, and competence. They selected our company because of the superior reputation we have in the industry.

Why should I consider changing landscape companies?

If your current landscape company is meeting your every need and you are thoroughly satisfied, then perhaps you shouldn't change. If, however you are interested in talking with us about how we can add value to your property and improve it over time, give us a call.

Which services are you able to provide?

When it comes to property maintenance, we do it all. We care for landscapes inside and out, trees, and irrigation. Our commercial service division enters into a whole new spectrum providing properties with lawn/landscape maintenance, parking lot sweeping, pressure washing, snow/ice services, and much more! With our resources and experience, we have unmatched depth and capability.

Do you subcontract any of your services?

For residential services, 99% of requested services are in-house. On the commercial/retail side of things, which has a much broader range of services, we provide 95% in-house. Although we do subcontract some services, we still consider ourselves a “one-stop-shop”. If we do not provide the service you need, in-house, we have relationships with companies who have the specialized knowledge to perform the tasks correctly, the first time. We take care of all of the hassle for you. We will make the phone calls, schedule the times, and if needed, be there when the other company arrives. You make one phone call to us and will receive one itemized invoice from us. It’s that easy!

Does Stonegate have any guarantees?

You can trust that we stand behind the quality and reliability of each and every job. If you should ever have a problem, call our office immediately and we will take care of it. We guarantee your satisfaction.

How do I know you'll do a good job?

No one in the industry goes further to ensure high quality services than Stonegate Enterprises, Inc. We provide significant incentives to all employees for the quality of their work judged by our customers and supervisors. Should there ever be a problem, call us and we will correct it. Stonegate is a name you can trust for superior service and quality.

Is Stonegate Insured?

Yes. We have current general liability coverage of $2 million, worker’s compensation, and full-coverage vehicle insurance. Please call our office if you would like a copy of our certificate of insurance.

Will you be there when you say you will?

Absolutely. We pride ourselves on our punctuality and reliability almost as much as our proficiency. Our computer-driven organizational methods and our management staff insure that we will not let you down. If for some reason a crew leader gets a few minutes behind, someone from our staff will call you ahead of time to inform you of the delay.

What does the customer have to supply?

Stonegate teams have all the necessary tools and machinery at hand with each and every project we pursue. All we ask for in return is a happy customer who will appreciate a job well done.

Who actually comes to my home?

Upon the initial stages of our relationship, either the owner or one of our trained supervisors will meet with you to discuss the service you are inquiring about. Stonegate teams are made up of professionally trained, drug free, courteous, uniformed, Stonegate employees.

Does it really matter if the team members are actual employees?

Yes it does. We invest a lot in Stonegate employees. The reason we go to such great lengths is so that we can withhold our guarantee to you and know that we have on-time, reliable people here everyday. Other landscape companies may use independent contractors because of the complications of social security, workers compensation, and payroll taxes. These companies have little control over the contractors and are not obligated to back up quality and performance. The use of unregistered individuals can also result in tax or insurance liabilities.

What all is involved in having my grass cut by Stonegate?

Our grass cutting service includes not only cutting the lawn in a precise manner that is beneficial in keeping the grass healthy, but also includes weed-eating/edging outlined areas and cleaning up trimmings that may fall onto driveways, sidewalks, porches, patios, window seals, ac units, etc. We also offer a bagging service for an extra charge. You may request what day you want your lawn mowed on and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. If the weather becomes too severe to mow, we will keep checking your property until it needs servicing again. You will only be charged for the times we actually mow, unless you are on a monthly contract.

How do I get a bid from you?

A lot of landscape companies are able to provide you with a bid for services over the phone. We take time to visit your property, understand your needs and requirements, and then if we are confident that we are the right company for you, we will provide the most comprehensive estimate for your review.

What will your services cost?

Ultimately, you get what you pay for. We are very upfront with all customers; we are not the cheapest in town nor are we the most expensive. We understand the competition we face in this industry and know we will be bidding against several others; we encourage this process and can only hope that after meeting our competition that you will find us the best company for the job. We will not offer you services which are not needed, nor do we want to exclude services which are required by your landscape.

Why does property maintenance cost so much?

Companies within the industry are faced with ever increasing costs just to keep their business going. Licenses, fuel, labor, materials, and tools all cost money. These costs keep going up every year with the cause being directly related to the cost of oil. A top quality property maintenance company is not going to come cheap.

Cheaper maintenance companies often cut corners on jobs, looking for any opportunity to trim costs. Many companies take on more work than they can handle, hire undocumented workers, rush their work or skip important procedures. Be skeptical of cheap prices that seem too good to be true.

How do I pay?

We will mail an invoice at the end of each month or upon completion of a project for the work that was done. We accept cash, checks, Master Card and Visa or pay online by clicking the "Pay Bill" button on our home page. Please note, for all "over-the-phone" credit card transactions we must add a 3% surcharge.

Do I have to sign a contract or does Stonegate provide individual services?

Residential customers do not have to sign contracts; we feel a simple handshake will suffice, however in some instances we would require it. Commercial/Insustrial properties will always have a signed agreement since their services are a lot more detailed. We offer 12, 24, or 36 month contracts and month to month individual services. Our contracts are customized to your preferences. We do ask for a 30 day cancellation notice if for some reason you become dissatisfied. We strive to please all of our customers and will try our best to fix any problems you may have.
